Normally, I get a load of insurance, depending on where I'm going. I write a lot, so I like to make sure I have enough pencils and notepads.
Camera, obviously. Sun cream if it's hot. I always check events listings because I get bored easily.
I normally drink the beer of where I'm staying because if you don't then Budweiser will take over the world.
I try and learn a few phrases and local dishes. I'm a vegetarian, so eating can be quite tricky on holidays.
Apart from that, I try to unwind and go with the flow.
